Interior

Mattress Ventilation  and enclosure from Mattressinsider - Hypervent Aire-Flow allows air to circulate under  the mattress, and / or seat cushions.  The  RV Mattress Encasement  encloses the mattress and protects it.  I shopped at this store and I think you will find products and information for your travel trailer.  This company has many products for campers.

Check it out at the link below, the link below should get you a discount, and helps me too.

Refrigerator Cooling Fan Installation

External and Internal Refrigerator Cooling Fans - UPDATED

STC-3008 dual temperature controller

  • Recent update  - helps in +90 degree days.  I added two small blower fans. The two small Blower fans are held in place with velcro.   I made a small wiring harness with water proof connectors.  Wires have Teflon insulation.  Fans can be easily removed or unplugged.  Fans are controlled by the same circuit used for upper exhaust fans.
  • I added two 12 volt external fans in the chimney behind the refrigerator, to assist cooling the evaporation tubing on those hot days.  Fans are a manufacturers option with these refrigerators.  The fans I installed are controlled by an STC-3008 digital circuit and probes, A LED display shows the sensed temperatures. I removed the cover above the refrigerator coils.  I then mounted two 12 volt fans and covered with screen.  Wires are  Teflon jacketed and water proof connectors are used.  I fished the wires under the refrigerator and into the compartment behind the access door.  I reinstalled vent cover and sealed with Dicor
  • As an experiment, with the temperature readings I discovered removing the access panel behind the refrigerator made a small difference in temperatures.  When I removed the cover on the roof, temperatures even dropped lower.  I did replace covers, I am considering using Reflectix to help insulate externally from solar thermal gain.
  • I am still experimenting with two fans and placement inside the refrigerator.  I fished wires for the probe and fan through the condensation drain, and routed to area behind the access door.
  • NOTE - Dometic advised that internal fans are not necessary, but usage is up to the owner.  They do sell a fan kits to increase air flow inside the refrigerator.  It makes sense to circulate are inside the refrigerator, but temperature measurements didn't show a benefit, and using larger fans showed an increase in temperature, probably due to heat the fan motors create.
  • Fridge Defend info, https://www.arprv.com/index.php
  • NOTE - SOME OWNERS HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH 12 VOLT ACCESSORIES FAILING DUE TO OVER VOLTAGE. CHECK SPECS AND VERIFY 12 VOLT ITEMS CAN WITHSTAND VOLTAGES OVER 14 VOLTS, it may be necessary to add a voltage regulator if voltage exceeds maximum for attached 12 volt devices. This seems to happen more often when solar charge controllers are connected to the batteries.  More information at:  https://youtu.be/fbWuiF2JSXs  See 12 volt regulator below
