We live in Clinton Township, Michigan, and have lived in the area for many years.
We have two grown sons and several grandchildren. Linny worked at a school for special needs children, and recently retired, and I am retired after 30 years in computer services. I also owned a custom trailer shop, building hundreds of trailers.
Linny is a great cook and home maker and a big Tigers baseball fan.
Linny was interested in getting a Tiny house to be located near our son and grandchildren. I thought starting with a small camper might be a good test.
My wife Linda (aka Linny) and I (Doug, aka Farmer Doug) had never camped together. We bought a 2007 Scamp 16 camper. Our first trip was to Algonac State Park to attend a fiberglass camper rally. We then traveled to Lakeland, Florida for Detroit Tigers spring training.
We are new to camping , and it is a major adjustment living in a small camper which could fit in our great room.
We sold our Scamp to the first caller and ordered a 2018 Escape 19 as pictured. Follow, our progress on getting our camper ready, travels, camper updates, product reviews and experiences.
Turns out Linny likes camping, but is not ready for roughing it or boondocking!
Farmer Doug - I'm better described as a hobby gardener, Linny, asked if I would come and plant a garden for students in her room at a special needs school. I dressed in coveralls, flannel shirt and wore a straw hat. I was introduced as Farmer Doug. We planted a nice small garden for the class, and I became Farmer Doug.
